Makaha Hawaii surf tank top

Makaha is where the world first got exposure to big wave surfing. A now iconic photograph taken in 1953, by Thomas "Scoop" Tsuzuki, was the first exposure to big wave surfing that almost everyone outside of Hawaii ever had. Taken at Makaha, it featured Woody Brown, George Downing and Buzzy Trent. Makaha went on to become the site of the world's first international surf contest and Greg Noll's legendary big wave ride in 1969.
